Kathryn Petersen Mace

Kate Petersen is a member of the Science Engagement Group at the Energy Sciences Network (ESnet), located at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. ESnet is the high performance networking facility of the US Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Science. Kate works with DOE facilities, their users and their collaborators to connect researchers with resources and tools needed to improve scientific productivity and performance.

With over 16 years of experience in technology and networking, Kate has focused her efforts in the research and education wide area networking community. Prior to joining ESnet, she held multiple leadership roles in the Computing and Information Technology division at Clemson University and CULR, LLC, which operated the regional research and educational network in South Carolina. Kate has been an active participant in the SCinet and SC Conference series since 2008, serving in a variety of lead roles including SCinet Chair in 2014.
