Valentín Carela-Español

Valentín Carela-Español is currently SDN Solutions Manager at Talaia Networks. He is also an external collaborator at the Broadband Communications Research Group that belongs to the Computer Architecture Department at the UPC BarcelonaTech. He received the Ph.D. degree in Computer Science in 2014 at UPC BarcelonaTech. His Ph.D. studies centered around the network traffic classification research field, focusing on the identification of applications in network traffic based on Machine Learning and DPI techniques and the aspects related to the application of those techniques in backbone networks. In the past, he was a visiting researcher at University of Napoli Federico II, Italy (2009) and at the National Institute of Informatics in Tokyo, Japan (2013).
