The Missing Link

Planned works are something that every engineer expects. This is especially true in growing & changing urban environments. Complications arise when works are planned by one group, but not communicated to another. In March 2017, without notice, an extremely important, but resilient, fibre was cut in Dublin. The following few days brought a number of assumptions and issues to light, while showcasing good incident management, collaboration and the immense value of risk analysis, preparation & resilience. This LT aims to talk about what happened, how the circumstances arose and the very useful lessons that should be learned from any such incident.
